Gardening families wanted in the Braintree Essex area for a little bit of a project! ;)

vixx Me and my little boy love digging in the garden we both get some exercise, fresh air and of course get very very muddy!! But best of all we are both learning how to grow our own food, to be self suffient something I feel is going to be a big part of how we will live in the future! I have filled my garden as much as I can but I reallly need more land, sadly trying to get an allotment in this area...

GET GROWING TO FEED THE NATION

cha78912 I worked on the land as a teen ager until 25 years old.  After all these years in an office environment work, the best job I for me is back to the land.  Where i enjoy the fresh air, green surroundings and golden sunshine. LIFE ON THE LAND IS VITAL FOR SURVIVAL.  keeps me fit,  I get all the fresh veggies and fruits, enjoy the flowers. With...

Digging to ACDC!

vixx I used to be all about the rock n roll and used to be a guitarist in a heavy rock band and now find myself desperate for a piece of land to call my own, reading up on potato growing and actually considering keeping chickens?!! Insane? maybe but I figure as long as I can find some black studded wellies and a good cd player I should be on a roll! I do love lots of different hobbies and having...

Early Spring and lots growing!

healing-gardens-cooperative I was working happily in the gardens yesterday and the sun was shining, just like spring which is almost here.  Enjoying myself planting and then looking up to see two visitors.  Jennifer  had come to photograph the gardens and collect some vegetables and write about us for the Healing Gardens Website. See her blog here.  wwwglastonburyhealinggardens.com   ...

Cherry Tree

meltootyfruityanie Cherry Tree Garden Centre, near Fritton in Norfolk has been a great resourse of MATERIAL. As it is part of the QD family don't expect the staff to know anything about growing however they have a large stock of seed potatos in at the moment, herb gardens and their usual varieties of vegtable seeds - pay attention to these as they are often varieties you won't find in the average supermarket!!! We...

Brewing

meltootyfruityanie After spending a week filling our fridge and freezer with home cooked Free Range Chicken meals from pie to coronation chicken, Jason checked on his Woodford's Wherry that is currently brewing away in his 'Man' room. For his 26th Birthday I decided that i was bored of the talk and that it was about time he actually started to brew his own - and so he got the kit a few days early and has been...

Almost 1 year on and still no joy

andre88uk Well its a shame this site hasnt really caught on in Norfolk. one of the major farming locations in the UK. (maybe as the land is still actual farms). Near to me we have 9.18km away 20 acre site for sub-division - Looking for rent. The rest are all nearly 1 year old listings and they dont give you any responses. I just want to find a small piece of land or some chickens, ducks, turkeys and some...

Strawberries still flowering and soup to die for

tippyscarecrow Amazing to see that the strawberries are still fruiting and flowering and the rocket is still on the go. Another succesful summer has passed, the broad beans, onions and garlic are in and doing well and today we made soup with our inbetweeners! My 3 year old's instructions were quite clear, to cook with everything we picked. I have to say I was a little sceptical, when she insisted the radishes...
