has anyone found a particular cat repellant effective?

there seems to be so many products on the market and a lot of comments from people that many do not work. so any recommendations on what is worth spending the money on?

I believe cats don't like lavendar but I don't know how much you have to plant in your garden to put them off. I've also heard of people planting a catnip bed so that if cats are inevitable, then at least they go to one particular spot and claim it as their own and leave the rest of the garden alone!!!

we bought a devise from Amazon. It attaches to your hose pipe. It's similar to the watering system that commercial growers use, however only goes off if it detects movement.

Saw an immediate improvement. We had problems with animals getting in under a wire fence from next door. They would get past bricks piled up, bite through the fence and get inside a net tunnel protecting cabbages. They kept digging them up. Not any more. We only put it on at night. As soon as we stopped again the problem returned so you have to be vigilant turning it on. As mentioned it only goes off it it detects movement, then squirts a jet of water. The noise of it going off is enough to deter cats.

Cost about £20 from amazon.

i am ownerof cats,i can tell you that any kind of citrus fruit keeps them off veggies and flowers,they hate it
i use lots of lemon and orange peelings
wipe it on walls and fences
also scatter it amongst plants
yes they will sit on catnip and eat it and roll on it good one also.
