I have a large(ish) suburban garden which is too large for me to maintain. The garden is just over 50m long. The first part is lawn and borders with summerhouse but the bottom is set out for fruit and veg with potager beds, greenhouse and sheds there are some existing fruit bushes, raspberry canes and asparagus bed. I'm looking for someone who wishes to grow fruit and veg in the bottom half of the garden whilst I maintain the lawn and borders. I'm open to discussion and other arrangements if these can be mutually agreed.

projectcanals

We are a family that are about to purchase a business on the Coventry canal making and supplying fenders ropes Coal and Gas to other canal users. We are looking for people along the canal who would be interested in the landshare scheme. So that we can become virtualy self sufficent. We will be looking at renewable fuels and other projects along the way.

My brother and I are both have over 20 years shooting experience, if you are having problems with vermin on your land we would be happy to assist, silenced airguns, clean and quiet. You must be the landowner or put us in touch with the landowner to gain legal permission to shoot, we shoot for the pot not profit and will gladly split the fruits of our labours with landowners / growers, so the more pests the merrier.

I have been growing vegetables and some fruit on my allotment since 1988, taking on a second plot about 10 years later. The total area is about 400 sq. yards. Each year I grow potatoes, peas, runner beans, broad beans, French beans, cucumbers, marrows, courgettes, lettuce, sweetcorn, beetroot, carrots, parsnips, onions, leeks, swede, cabbage, cauliflower, Brussel sprouts, gooseberries, apples, rhubarb and blackcurrants. Also I am trying to be successful with or have tried other crops such as celery, celeriac, Swiss chard, tomatoes (big blight problem). I try to be as organic as I can be but with the allotment being about 6 miles from house I can't visit daily for pest control. I have experience of four-year crop rotation, composting, manure, comfrey and raised beds and have adapted methods to suit the situation either from experience or by reading what other folks have done. E.g. I sow peas 4 to 6 inches deep instead of 2 inches to try to reduce the damage caused by mice. I live in Solihull and work in Warwick and would be willing to answer questions and generally give advice and guidance by email or by visit (if in the areas around Solihull or Warwick or in between). I have been CRB checked for when I was a parent helper with Solihull Music Service until our youngest daughter went to university (September 2008).

I'm a member of the Herb Society and offer free workshops on growing and using herbs. I often have lots of self seeded herbs that are free to good homes. I'm happy to support people who want to grow or work with herbs by email or if they want to visit me. I am CRB checked for POVA as I do voluntary work with older adults.

What to say about me, I have been happily married for the last 4 years, and we are expecting our first child (which is both fantastic and scary at the same time), and we have been watching River Cottage and want to learn to grow our own food (which is good because we go through vegetables and fruits like it is going out of fashion). So I have decided to throw myself out there to see what info and skills I can pick up.
