new allotment - Land off Bradgate Drive.

I have an area of around 5x9 metres at the bottom of my garden that I would be willing to let someone grow veg/fruit on. Most of the area has been dug over with a bit of rough ground at the bottom that would need clearing. I would be willing to help clear this and maintain the plot in exchange for a share of the produce.

Anyone want to land share??

gemma2020

I'm Gemma, I'm involved with a community sustainability project called Ashby 2020, and I'm open to questions, comments and any involvement :) Landshare is one of three top ideas I am trying to promote (because let's face it, it really is a top idea) - I'd like to speak to and encourage those using the landshare site already (possibly using cups of tea and biscuits) and drum up some more support for it (and locate land of course) through word of mouth, word of internet, and promotion at local events. Basically, Ashby 2020 aims to make Ashby a sustainable town by targeting six primary areas: food & water, energy, travel, waste, the built environment, and commerce and finance. I also want to improve community spirit. You can never have enough of that. Changing all these things at once would be hard, but if everyone starts with one idea they're interested in (like growing their own produce and promoting biodiversity) we can make a substantial difference. I'd like to hear from people in the area that would like more info or would be interested in getting involved and promoting things like Landshare. Ashby 2020 has a website, and can be found on Facebook and Twitter if that's your thing. If you follow the project there (or send me your email address) I'll be able to give you updates on events we're getting involved in and come along to say hello (wouldn't that be nice?). Totally obligation free, if you only want to converse online... I'd just like to know if there are like-minded folks out there, and I'm really quite friendly. And occassionally a bit ridiculous. But on the whole, completely harmless ;o)

I live in Leicestershire and registered for Landshare as a helper as I currently run an allotment and look after my mother's garden as well as my own. I have recently negotiated the use of a nearby plot of land for communal activity by our small neighbourhood association, which includes a small vegetable plot, wild areas, pond and sitting area. We now have six hens (June 2010) and are getting used to channelling our waste and surplus veg into their diet and enjoying their eggs.

Hi - I have turned my small back garden into an allotment and we grow whatever we can (and try and stop our three chickens from eating it before we do) I'm passionate about organic veg and provinance of food in my cooking. Recently I've started experimenting curing my own meat from locally sourced farms however one area that would fulfil a real ambition is to have some rare breed free range pigs I can call my own. I also want a much bigger potato crop ! Can you help?

Hi All, My fiancee (Liew) & I (Ashley) are looking for some land local to Loughborough where we would have to chance to help others and ourselves grow some produce. We do not have much experience in terms of gardening however we do have a great willingness to learn and lots of energy and vigour to go alongside it. If anyone has any land they need help to cultivate and are willing to pass on their expertise I believe we could make a perfect partnership. Yours sincerely, Ashley & Liew
